god replies faster than any of you reply to sms
"please. why dont you just take one sweet. for this moment of sincerity"
"nah, its ok."
"just accept one please"
"really, its ok."
"ok. thank you very much!"
rewind 10 minutes back.
i was in 124 heading to City Hall from HMV.
alone. yes alone.
so i told myself, if i saw any beggar or people asking for donation,
i'll be nice. and maybe we'll be friends.
but i guess god replies faster than any of you can reply to sms.
i alighted.
and i stoned at the bus stop.
i turned my head left and saw a girl with 2 sling bags dashing across the busy road.
"will she talk to me?"
durr, no.so i faced forward and there was this other 20-ish year old girl talking to me.
i had my headphones on so i missed out the first 2 seconds of the convo.
she was selling mentos sweets.think it was for some fund raiser for her grad party or something.
"do you have change?" i asked
"yes i do"
"can i pledge a donation of $5?"
"i'll see how much change i have" she replied
so i passed her a $10.
"you know what? just take it. and i dont want the sweet" i said
"really?" she looked surprised
and i realised i made her beam.
and i was beaming.

and yesterday, i donated to this malay auntie sitting on the floor outside Orchard MRT.
i didnt have much change so i just gave the smallest denomination i have.
$2 only.
i was kinda ashamed for donating that meagre amount.
but the appreciative woman, bowed down to me and kissed the note and and thanked god.
it seems everyone else only donated 20cents and 50cents.
people. have a heart please.
Orchard Road ok?
at least donate more.
and yes. i think people around me know.
i always stop to donate.
well except for Flag Day.
where all those measely kids with tin cans and sticker come up to you and beg half heartedly for money. bahh
have a heart.
