i finally got it back from my bus freak friend...
cant believe i gave it away for free...

but to get it back wasnt easy

i had to exchange it with another desto (aka destination plate)

i had to trade this rare 97 temporary desto...

he didn't force me for it, but i felt it was only nice to give something in return....
especially like in this case when i ask for this 185 desto back..

whats so special bout 185?

three reasons..

1) this bus is my childhood service...always took it

2) this service is no longer in existence... so imagine how rare the desto is

3) i ride on the improved version of this service almost daily

Improved??

here, a lil explanation

185 (my era) from Choa Chu Kang to Jalan Anak Bukit (loop)

185 was handed over from SBS to TIBS in 1998 due to an agreement..

185 merged with the newly introduced 989 to become

185 Choa Chu Kang to Jalan Anak Bukit (loop)
989 Choa Chu Kang to Changi Airport PTB 1 & 2

185 + 989 = 985

985 Choa Chu Kang to Geylang Lorong 1

so now, i frequent the latter...service 985

another special set of destoes that i have...

361 is non-existent no more...
re -numbered as 941..

and this 186 side desto, i got it courtesy of SBS Transit...dey are so nice to bus freaks!
the green back destoes above are from SMRT buses...

hmmm...today, i took 405...with 105090 (from SGBuses forum)

405 is a super rare bus!

operates on special days like Ching Ming Festival, Good Friday, Deepavali, Hari Raya Puasa...

simply because..

the route is

405 Boon Lay to Choa Chu Kang Road End (loop)

thats the cemetery area if you still don't get it...

u noe...Lim Chu Kang... rings a bell yet??

oh wow...u noe, that area was so congested with visitors and cars...
there was like a traffic jam, and the traffic police had to be deployed to control the confusion and chaos there...

haha, oh man, then after that, i went to meet jannah... oh well, boring dae, so travel around lor...
went to Changi Airport..and then Tampines Mall...
ate Hot Fudge Sundae...yum

hmmm, but there were heart-wrenching moments throughout our journey...

there was this mother, and daughter, sittin there at Tampines MRT Station, beggin to get alms and donations from the public...

i saw the sad look in their eyes, especially the mother...she cant seem to be able to provide education for her daughter..not even shelter. They looked frail and dirty. Penniless, aimless..

wad a cruel world..

then, there was this other scene,
a homeless old man, sleeping topless at the lif lobby of an HDB building in Bendemeer estate...

why is life cruel?
where did he go wrong?
isnt it cold sleeping on the ground at night?
why?

has he eaten yet?
where will he go tonight and tomorrow?

you see, i have got friends who just love to splurge..
some, not even workin, but constantly have lots of cash to squander on...

i bet Rafie never eaten Old Chang Kee before...

probably too low class for him...

he love splurging...

but oh well....

hmm, as you can see, i dont take bus rides blindly...
it is always an opener.. to travel around Singapore and the world!!

oh well...

i will blog more the next time round...

Watch this space...
