remembering the ghost

awww...
remember that late 80s early 90s movie titled "Ghosts"?
the one where the male counterpart risked his life in order to save her female counterpart.
the one where the male counterpart came back to life and
still tried to save her life while he was in ghostly form.

i remember at the age of 5,
i was in the living room. i browsed through the video casette collection i had in the TV cabinet drawer.
Michael Jackson's Moonwalker and P. Ramlee's movies were in it as well.
that was when i found a tape with no picture on the cover. the only label it had was an ugly typewriter font which reads "Ghosts"

so i inserted the VHS into the player and watched it alone.
i didnt understand much of the dialogue then.
well, the love scene drew me in too. the part where the couple did the pottery and then went to bed together.

and i remembered crying to the ending.
patrick's soul got called by the heaven above.
represented by a bright spotlight.
he walks in to the light.
and off he went...

that was touching for a 5 year old kid.
:)

Patrick Swayze (1952-2009)

well, here's to Patrick Swayze.
i used to think he was hot and yet cool.
Patrick gave in to his pancreatic cancer and left this world at the age of 57.

damn, why are all my childhood fave stars gone too soon.
:)
