the popeye, the images and his job
Zuhairi, Adam, Izzat, Gino.
if you noticed our hands, we all were holding on tightly/loosely to our new phones [Pixon, Iphone, BB].
the ones that we claim we didnt try to bring in to camp. all except zuhairi of course.
he claims to be not so into digital extravagance. but his digital camera that shot this pic spoke otherwise.
despite the joy and laughter i brought to the table.
there was something bothering me inside my head.
oh yeah, we were at Popeye's (as if you don't already know)
celebrating Zat Hardy's belated birthday.
_____________
in the back of my head, i was wondering where on earth was my dad?
he didnt pick up his calls. didnt reply to my sis's sms.
didnt get home for nearly 2 days and not informing us where he's been.
the last thing i knew from my mom was that he claimed to be jogging.
but his motorcycle ain't there in the lot as well.
so let's just say i was prepared for the worst.
but then again, i didnt let go of any hope that dad's alright.
cos i basically jumped each time i hear a Yamaha RXZ from outside the window.
i'd jump and run to the window to see whether that was my dad.
but i gave up on that soon after.
many hours later, which was like minutes ago.
i heard another RXZ. i stopped facebooking, stood up and looked out the window.
and the first thing i exclaimed, "YES! He's alive. Thank god!"
so now i can finally sleep in peace.
thank god once again.
________
on a side note, i can safely say that my dad had worked for at least 29 companies in the last 12 years.
since 1998, my dad had been job-hopping. he worked as a Cashier before, a Gas Pump Attendent, Despatch Rider, Forklift Driver, Security Officer Supervisor, Security Officer, Security Officer, Security Officer, Security Officer, Security Officer, Security Officer.
but his main core focus job would always be a Security Officer. ahem.
ok, basically a security guard... if you so badly wanna look down on my family.
but dont think too lowly of him, he once applied for a Security Guard post and was given the Supervisor post instead. with better pay of course. after being on that job for like 2 months, he requested to be a normal Security Guard instead. he didnt want the Supervisor post..
and our family were like "whaaaaattt????"
of course, after like 5 months into the job, he left. and whenever he leaves a company, he does it on the sly. he just disappears from duty. just like that. and usually he leaves because he can't take the bad air and the animosity between him and his colleagues.
since i mentioned the year 1998, this bus was new in 1998, the Japanese Hino Volgren Smiley.
Express 521 [World Trade Centre - Bt Panjang] as seen here was integrated
as Service 963 in 2003 [World Trade Centre (now known as Harbourfront) - Woodlands].
ok, back to story.
when i was 12/13, his habit of job-hoppin worried me alot. especially in terms of their retirement savings and also for my future. but amazingly, my family still survived for my dad was not the only sole bread winner.
my mom held a more stable job. i'd think it's stable cos my mom didnt have a short temper unlike dad.
once anyone trample on his feet, he'd up and go and wont report for work the next day.
its amazing i tell you. my dad's temper is amazing.
whenever my dad suddenly returned home from his night shift at say 1am, we'd automatically know that he quit his job.
i brought this topic up cos basically, he'd [again] just left yet another company after working like 2 days.
its amazing.
what's more amazing? during the recession in 2009, he managed to work for 3 different companies. 4 if you included the one that he'd just quit.
so recession my arse. my dad always get a job within a week of job-hunting.
those who can't find jobs are liars. or maybe cos they're really liars and thats why the company rejected them.
y'know im just playing. i dont really mean what i said in that last line. do i?
